City of Crystal

Crystal is a fully developed residential community. The Bottineau Boulevard corridor is Crystal's top redevelopment priority area. The city's Comprehensive Plan envisions new mixed-use development along, and improvements to, Bottineau Boulevard.

The Crystal Airport occupies a 435-acre site adjacent to Bottineau Boulevard, and the city's Comprehensive Plan also anticpates the eventual redevelopment of this prime land. In 2004, the City of Crystal joined with the Bottineau Boulevard Partnership in calling for the closure of the airport and the site's conversion to mixed-use redevelopment better suited to the region's needs.
