West Broadway improvements on schedule; will support BRT

Work in progress on West Broadway near Queen Avenue in Minneapolis.

March 2005—Ongoing roadwork on West Broadway between Girard and Lowry Avenues in Minneapolis is on schedule for completion in late 2005.

The project adds new turn lanes to expedite flow of through traffic, including expanded express bus service and eventual BRT.

It also includes new water mains and sidewalks.

Construction between Lowry Ave. and Highway 100 in Robbinsdale could begin as early as autumn, 2005.

Design for a third phase of construction on County Road 81 from Highway 100 to beyond Highway 10 has been put on hold .
