MnDot lays out Devil’s Triangle construction plans

July 2004—The Northwest Corridor Partnership [NOTE: renamed Bottineau Boulevard Partnership in 2005] continues to track the state’s plans to build new access ramps connecting Highway 169, CR 81 and 85th Ave. in Brooklyn Park.

The project is awaiting agency approval of final design, said MNDoT engineer Claudius Toussaint, and will then go to the cities of Brooklyn Park and Osseo for consent. These municipalities may be responsible for the as-yet-unassessed cost of relocating utilities.

Toussiant said the $49 million project should to go to bid in late 2006. Construction would occur from 2007 to late 2009.

The Northwest Corridor Partnership is advocating for dedicated BRT lanes between the rebuilt Devil’s Triangle and Bass Lake Road in Crystal.
